Thomas Lee Veal

Obituary Date: Wednesday, April 5, 2023
Mr. Thomas Lee Veal, age 63, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 5, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
 
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service on Monday at the church. The celebration of life service will follow at 2:30 pm Monday, April 10, 2023 at Corinth Baptist Church. Reverend Adam Smith will officiate.
 
Mr. Veal, a native of Buford, Georgia, he was born December 14, 1959, to Patricia McGuire Veal and the late Ryman Lee Veal. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Louise Johnson.
 
 He graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA and his ME.d. in special education, following graduation he started his career in Elberton, Georgia. He also taught school at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, and ended his career at North Hall  Middle School. He retired after 34 years in the education system and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and taught Sunday school (adult couples class) for several years. He enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. 
 
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Miriam Johnson Veal; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Veal and his wife Kristin of Gainesville; grandsons, Andy Veal and his wife Ashly and Matthew Veal and Isabella Taylor; granddaughter, Isabella Cain;  great-granddaughter, Makenna Ashworth, and brother, Robert Veal.
 
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Corinth Baptist Church (memo-Trans Russia Fund) 3590 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, Ga 30506
