Jimmy Garrett

Mr. Jimmy Garrett, 90, of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at his residence.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, GA. Rev. Chip Penland will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial park Funeral Home Friday, April 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

Born on March 3, 1933 in Suches, GA, he was the son of the late Lincoln and Martha Seabolt Garrett. He retired from Stork Gamco after 30 years of service as a foreman. Mr. Garrett was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his brother, Willis Garrett; sisters, Shirley Carey, Myrtle Collins, Mae Clark, Beulah Penland and son in law, Woody Justus.

Mr. Garrett is survived by his wife, Jean Pruett Garrett of Gainesville; daughter, Sonya Justus of Gainesville; sisters, Vivian Conley of Blairsville, Bessie Brown of Blairsville, Evelyn Shook of Blairsville, Bertha Powers of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Elizabeth Thompson (Daniel) and their children, Garrett and Knox Thompson; J Lawrence Barrett, Scott Justus and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.
