Douglas Dan Simpson

Mr. Douglas Dan Simpson, age 77 of W. Currahee Street, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A son of the late William Harvey Simpson and Daisy Savage Simpson, he was born February 13, 1946 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.  He was employed with Fieldale Corporation for 35 years.  He was a member of Rock Quarry Congregational Holiness Church and a member of the NRA.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle Simpson and Troy Simpson and by two sisters, Lela Kell and Dorothy Ambrose.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Marilyn Ambrose Simpson; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jimmy Deal of Cornelia; son, Dan Simpson of Toccoa; grandchildren, Heather and Tim Pitts, Bryant and Kaylee Simpson and Ethan Simpson; great-grandchild, Ava Simpson; step-grandchildren, Ashley and Greg Webb, Brian Deal, Daniel Mathis and Aubree Davison; sister, Frances Stephens of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 8, 2023, 11 o’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jeremy Garmon officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Ethan Simpson, Tim Pitts, Bryant Simpson, Jimmy Deal, Greg Webb and Daniel Mathis.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Douglas Dan Simpson.
