Robert Lee 'Bob' Boothby

Robert Lee 'Bob' Boothby, 80 of Gainesville went to be with the Lord Tuesday March 28, 2023.

Born in Gridley, CA, Mr. Boothby was the son of the late Earl and Dorothy Fulton Boothby. As a child, Mr. Boothby lived in Alaska. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received the Air Medal award from the President of the United States for actively participating in more than 25 aerial missions over hostile territory. Mr. Boothby was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Boothby, Gainesville, son and fiancé, Robbie Boothby and Lisa Heffley, Blairsville, daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Mark Little, Gainesville, sister, Mary Klayum, brother, Richard Boothby (Taunnie), sister, Judy Hannaman (Dale), all of Alaska. 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Boothby is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Mensing and best friend, Hayne Thomas.

Memorial services will be held Saturday April 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Darin Cain will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. There will also be another memorial service held at a later date in Alaska, where his remains will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
