Wilma Kanaday Haynes

Wilma Kanaday Haynes, 94 of Gainesville passed away Friday March 24, 2023.

Mrs. Haynes was born December 27, 1928 in Lumpkin County, but had lived in Hall County for most of her life.  She was the daughter of the late William Marion "Will" and Clara Gillespie Kanaday. 

Mrs. Haynes retired as a Lab Technician from the Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Lanier Park Hospital with a total of 40 plus years of service. She was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Wilma enjoyed sewing and was a remarkable seamstress.

The family would like to say a special thank you to those that cared for Wilma during these last few months.

Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a number of other family members.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Floyd Haynes, her parents, brothers, Claude (Vernice) Kanaday, Marvin (Faye) Kanaday, Edward (Ruby) Kanaday, Jack (Evelyn) Kanaday, sisters, Pauline (Robert) Stephens, Mary (Hoyt) Anderson and Ruth Kanaday.

Graveside services will be held Sunday March 26, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kyle Savage will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to Yellow Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 526, Murrayville, Georgia 30564 in memory of Wilma.
