Florence Elrod Garrett, age 65, of Buford, GA. passed away Friday, March 24, 2023. Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bennett; daughter, Melinda Garrett; parents, A.A. “Mutt” Elrod and Florine Fraser Elrod. She is survived by her children, Amanda Garrett (Keith) Mooney of Commerce, GA. and Anthony (Chasta) Garrett of Franklin, N.C.; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha (Lyle) Dysinger of Toccoa, GA., Gail (Gene) Robinson of Commerce, GA., Della McKinney of Commerce, GA., Beulah Elrod of Commerce, GA., Frances Weinand of Franklin, N.C., Flonnie Thomas of Flowery Branch, GA.; brothers, Buddy Elrod of Commerce, GA., John (Deborah) Elrod of Cleveland; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Garrett was born September 6, 1957 in Buford, GA. She received her education at South Hall High School. Mrs. Garrett was a homemaker and was a member of Piney Grove Methodist Church in Flowery Branch, Ga. A funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA. with Rev. Matt Calvert officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to Flanigan Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses in memory of Florence Elrod Garrett.
