Scott J. Linn

Scott J. Linn, 63, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born October 18, 1959 Scott was raised in Binghamton, New York where he was a graduate of Chenango Forks High School.  He had been a resident of Lumpkin County for the last 30 years.  For many years he worked as a licensed electrician until joining Forsyth County Planning and Development where he worked until his retirement in 2014.  Scott was very active in the lives of his children and had spent a lot of time coaching them at Lumpkin County Parks and Recreation.  He was an avid outdoorsman and could always be found at the creek or river with his kids.  Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Audrey Linn, and brothers, Paul, Guy, Bill, and Bob Linn.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Leigh Ann Linn of Dawsonville; children, Nathan Linn, Rebecca Linn, Caitlin Campelo; brothers, Brett (Chris) Linn of Carmel, NY, Todd Linn of Port Crane, NY; three grandchildren; father-in-law, Doug Roberts of Winterville, GA; sisters-in-law, Dee Dee (Chris) Sanchez of Arnoldsville, GA, Brenda (Smiley) Gomez of Athens, GA, Bonnie (Billy) McMahon of Lawton, OK; brother-in-law, Rick Roberts of Decatur AL; special friend, Cheryl Hamby of Dawsonville; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial visitation will be held at Bearden Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

A formal celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help offset final expenses.
