Mrs. Frances Davis Lovell, 86, formerly of Gainesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene “Buck” Lovell, her parents Estelle and Thomas Davis, and her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and JoAnn Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Maddox Schuler and son-in-law Bob Schuler of Roswell; her two grandchildren, Drew and Katie Schuler of Atlanta; her nephew Tommy Davis (Sheilah); her two great
nephews Jackson (Kaitlyn) and Mitchell Davis (Katie), and her great great niece Hattie Davis, all of Atlanta.
Frances was a 1955 graduate of Model High School in Rome, and a 1959 graduate of the University of Georgia, in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. She was a life-long educator and retired from Lanier Technical College. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Gainesville and active in the Beacon Group. She was a very active member of the Gainesville community until she moved to Alpharetta in 2018 to be close to her daughter.
She was an amazing Mother and a fantastic Grandmother who spent many days playing games, hosting their friends at the lake, and cooking many of their favorite foods. Frances had a wonderful love of
travel and saw the USA with Buck in their motorhome. She traveled the world, enjoyed many cruises, and loved spending time with friends playing canasta, looking for antiques, gardening, and cooking
many meals. She also had many talents such as sewing and crafting. Her family and friends will always cherish her “award-winning” smile and her gracious hospitality to others.
Our family expresses gratitude to our wonderful caregiver Cornelia Breary, and to the staff of Mayfield Oaks Personal Care Home in Alpharetta for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, any contributions can be made to First Methodist Church, Gadabouts, 2780 Thompson Bridge Rd, Gainesville, GA 30506 or Eagle Ranch, PO Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502.
