Mrs. Evelyn Jeanne Westover-Spiegel, known to all as Jeanne, age 81 of Dacula, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 of natural causes with family present.
Jeanne was born October 5, 1941 to Doris & Cedric Westover in Eden, Vermont. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Bernard P. Spiegel; Parents, Cedric & Doris Westover; Sister-in-law, Patricia Westover; Brother & Wife, Roy & Donna Westover; Granddaughter, Shelley Rene’ Larmon-Little.
She is survived by her four Daughters, Lorraine Julie Norwood, Cathy Jean Buchheit, Patricia Joy Brown, Elizabeth Ann aka Dixie Stroup; 7 Grandchildren, Joshua & Amanda Clark, Stephen & Luke Norwood, Ken Koerner, Colleen & Kimberly Stroup; 5 Great-Grandchildren, Alec Little, Destiny & Trinity Clark, Ruby & Rose Key, Jackson Koerner; Brother, Len Westover.
Jeanne loved the Lord and leaned on Him throughout her life. She would often say “the Good Lord willing…” She was known to have a quick-witted sense of humor and did not hesitate to speak her mind, like it or not. Born and raised in the rural town of Eden, Vermont, she was very adventurous and fearless to seek new experiences. In fact, she traveled to Heidelberg, Germany by herself, with her 3 young daughters, ages 2, 3, & 4 at the time by ship, by train, by plane, and by bus across the big pond to Germany.
Jeanne was a talented seamstress and worked in places like Columnes Department Store, making gowns and the like. Later, she became a nurse, and enjoyed a 25 year career. She worked at Waterbury State Hospital, in Waterbury, Vermont; University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia; and lastly, at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Manuel Gunter will officiate. The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
