Jun Haeng Park

Obituary Date: Thursday, March 16, 2023

Jun Haeng Park, our beloved father, husband, and strong-willed supporter.

Jun Haeng Park, age 58 of Suwanee, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel at 4:00 PM. Pastor Seung Woo Yang will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jun Haeng Park was born in Seoul, South Korea, and lived a life serving others. After losing his father at a young age and struggling with poverty, Jun Haeng immigrated to the United States and carved his future through hard work. Despite coping with a life full of strife, Jun Haeng always remembered the value and importance of family. Irrelevant to the fact that he often worked an insurmountable number of hours, nearly seven days a week, Jun Haeng always bolstered enough energy to express his overwhelming love to his family.

In Seoul, South Korea, Jun Haeng met the woman he would spend the next thirty-two years with, Hyun Jun Shim. Jun Haeng and Hyun Jun would marry and have two children: Lia Park and Richie Park. The former being his loving and doting daughter; the latter being his equally loving son.

Initially immigrating to New York City, Jun Haeng would work himself to the bone. However, his hard work eventually paid off when he managed to open up his own small business. Bagel Park, a quaint deli in Eastchester, NY. Although Jun Haeng found success, he would later get diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in early 2014. Despite the grim news, Jun Haeng remained a stoic statue and sought to secure his family’s future. Jun Haeng, with his newfound wealth, bought a house in Suwanee, GA, and invested in a number of ventures. In addition, Jun Haeng battled stage four colon cancer for over eight years in order to teach and guide his children to adulthood. Even in the face of death, his family was still his number one priority. Jun Haeng pushed his body to the limit and he was rewarded with a safe and secure future for his beloved family. Despite the fact that stress often defined his life, in the very end, with the knowledge that his family was financially secure, he was free of it.

As a Christian, Jun Haeng lived a life defined by service and loyalty to his family. We are hopeful that God graced him with the privilege of entering his domain. May the smile that dominated his face when he passed similarly dominate his visage when he’s in Heaven.
