Christopher Renay Stewart, 48, of Gainesville, Ga., entered the gates of Heaven Wednesday, March 15, 2023 after battling stage 4 esophageal cancer for almost four years. Chris is survived by his loving wife Liz of 28 years, son Zach, daughter-in-law Shayla, his mom Theresa, siblings, nieces & nephews & extended family. Chris is proceeded in death by his father Curtis Stewart & his son Christopher “Ryan” Stewart.
Chris will be remembered for his extensive biblical knowledge, humor, selflessness, integrity, honesty & his love & devotion to his family. His mission in life was to spread the word of God and lead others to Christ. Chris was dedicated to his work as the Vice President of construction and estimating at G.P’s Enterprises for 19 years. He had a gift for coming up with unique solutions to difficult problems.
In the four years of battling cancer, Chris touched and inspired countless lives. Many nurses and doctors considered him to be more of a friend than a patient. His uplifting words & demeanor left others in awe as he never let his diagnosis change his sense of humor or waiver his relationship with God. His family & friends can rest assured that Chris closed his eyes on earth, & opened them to see the Savior he was so excited to finally meet & be reunited with his son. Chris would have wanted those who knew & loved him to celebrate his homecoming because he is no longer in pain & suffering as he strolls the streets of gold.
The visitation will be held from 3:00PM to 6:00PM, on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at W. R. Strickland & Sons Chapel, Clermont, Ga. Reverend Scott Waters of Victory Baptist will officiate the service. The family welcomes all friends & anyone Chris impacted to join them at the funeral home for the viewing & the service that will immediately follow at 6:00PM. W. R. Strickland & Sons, Clermont, Ga.
