Samuel “Sam” A. Rape

Samuel “Sam” A. Rape, 59, of Clarkesville, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away Friday, March 17, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Artis and Mary Wallis Rape; grandparents, Hugh and Bonceile Titshaw Wallis and Elbert and Victoria Rape; and aunt, Sarah Wallis.

Sam is survived by his sister, Kayla Rape of Dacula; aunt, Ethleen Wallis (Randall) Gower; uncles, Ralph Wallis and Royce Wallis; girlfriend, Sonya Maddox of Jefferson, GA; special friend, Melissa Mulkey of Dacula, GA; best friend, Keith Cox of Dacula, GA; and numerous cousins.

Mr. Rape was born December 12, 1963 in Gainesville, GA and was a 1981 graduate of North Gwinnett High School. He retired from Gwinnett County government as a Crime View Analyst after thirty-six years of service, and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Buford. He enjoyed football and baseball, Hot Wheels cars, riding motorcycles, poker games, Nascar and antique cars, and watching Yellowstone.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Fabian Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Hog Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Dacula, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023.
