Shirley Ann Haynes Mitchell

Shirley Ann Haynes Mitchell, age 74, of Athens, GA died Saturday, March 18, 2023.  Mrs. Mitchell was born in Tunnel Hill, GA to the late Edgar and Ruth Plott Haynes.  She was a member of Refuge Church and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, Jerry Mitchell of Athens; son, Greg Dean (Donna) of Winder; daughters, Teresa Heath (Wayne) of Commerce, Christy Skipper of Davenport, FL and Stephanie Carter (Bo) of Bogart; sisters, Betty Kaigler (Jim) of Savannah and Bobbie Grotton of Bangor, ME; and grandchildren, Ashley Dean, Kristin Dean, Breanna Skipper, Grayson Carter and Emma “Sissy Carter.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Monday, March 20 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Wilbanks and Rev. Johnny Wright officiating.  Interment will follow in Howington Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 7 PM.
