Eugene "Bubba" A. Richards, Jr.

Mr. Eugene “Bubba” A. Richards, Jr., age 79 of Dooley Drive, Toccoa passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

He was born January 30, 1944 in Nashville, Tennessee, having lived throughout Georgia for most of his life before moving to Toccoa. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967, having served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was retired from Atlantic Steel with 29 ½ years of service. He was a Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and several sisters.

Bubba also loved his Harleys, riding for close to 50 yrs., until his illness made it impossible for him to continue doing so.

He loved his Ga. Dawgs & NASCAR, but the biggest joys in his life were spending time with his family & the dog and cat, Maggie & Little.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda (Gypsy) Kofler Richards; daughters, Angelica Elizabeth Niccolai (Joshua Kellan Niccolai, grandson, and Claire Elizabeth Niccolai, granddaughter), of Jefferson, Ga; and Melissa Louise Edmunds and husband Chief Warrant Officer 2 Scott Samuel Edmunds (Jack Samuel Edmunds, grandson and Evan Scott Edmunds, grandson) of Chesapeake, Va., son Jesse Lee Newberry of Toccoa, Ga.; daughter, Patricia Corinne Richards of South Carolina and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren in S.C.

His wishes were to be cremated.  No visitation or service is planned.
