Ida Carolyn Smith

Ida Carolyn Smith, 77, originally from Jefferson, a longtime resident of Gainesville, passed away in Cornelia on Monday, February 27, 2023, of natural causes after an extended illness.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Bruce Chambers, William Larry Chambers, and John Thomas Smith; daughters Sarah Gail Sipes, Carol Renee Smith, and Barbara Denise Head. She is also survived by her brother Bobby Smith, sister, Lois Nix, 18 Grand Children, 30 Great grandchildren, 4 Great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Thomas Smith, her father, James Walt Smith. mother, Ida Irene Dover, and her loving daughter Gwendolyn Maxine Chambers.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at Little Davenport Funeral Home. A short visitation will be on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 10:00am to 11:00m at Mercy Baptist Church, 3796 Tanners Mill Rd, Gainesville, GA 30507 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the Church cemetery.
