Robert (Bob) Buhler Marshall

Robert (Bob) Buhler Marshall, lovingly known as Papa, went to his forever home Tuesday, February 21, 2023.  Bob Marshall was born January 12, 1941, to the late Louis (Duke) and Julia Marshall in Janesville, Wisconsin.  Bob graduated from Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wisconsin in 1960.  After the tragic loss of his father at the age of 17, Bob finished high school on his own and enlisted in the Air National Guard.  Bob met the love of his life, Nancy in 1965.  After marrying in 1966 Bob and Nancy moved from Madison, Wisconsin, to Hancock, Wisconsin.  Bob was a business man and family man in central Wisconsin until 1987.  While they lived in Hancock, Bob and Nancy owned and the Plainfield Truck Stop, Plainfield Cheese House, Silvermint Lounge and built a 10-unit motel.   In 1987 they moved to Fargo, ND, where Bob managed a chain of Truck Stops.  In 1991, they moved to Broken Arrow, OK, where he worked for Brinks Armored Car. In 1996, they moved to Tampa, FL, where Bob worked at Ashton Gardens Retirement Community until be and Nancy retired to Buford, GA to be close their grandchildren, Trey and Ansley.  Bob rarely met a stranger in his 82 years on this life and he loved to make people laugh.  His passions in life were Corvettes, World War II and his family.

Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy.  He is also survived his two daughters: Joan (Allen) Barker and Jodi Marshall and grandchildren: Dillon Marshall, Trey Barker and Ansley Barker.  Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Louis (Duke) and Julia Marshall and his sister, Lois Hellendbrand.

Robert will be celebrated with a funeral mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, Monday, March 6, at 11:00 am.  A light reception will follow the mass.
