Mrs. Alice Aileen Toler, age 80 of Gainesville, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Memorial Park South Chapel with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Zach Williams and Rev. Delma Simmons will officiate the service and Pastor Rod Bell will officiate at the Graveside. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mrs. Toler was born June 20, 1942 to the late Peyton & Ruth Justice in Chelyan, West Virginia. She graduated from Scott High School in Madison, West Virginia, where she was a member of the band and a majorette. She married Richard Williams and as a young couple the managed a children’s home in Greenville until his passing at a very young age. Aileen re-married Earl Toler on July 23, 1993.
The greatest event in her life was when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She served the Lord as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and sang special music. Upon moving to Georgia, she was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.
She loved cooking and entertaining friends. Her sparkling smile will be missed by many friends and family.
Mrs. Toler is survived by her son, William Bernstein, Jr.; daughter & son-in-law, Tricia & Thomas Smigel, Jr. all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandson, Thomas Joseph Smigel, III; sisters, Angela Halstead and Sandra Hoffman both of Gainesville; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Williams; second husband, Earl Mason Toler, Sr.; parents; Peyton & Ruth Justice; and sister, Lenore Bell.
