Mrs. Barbara Evelyn Mills Worthy, age 80 of Toccoa passed away peacefully Saturday, February 4, 2023 in Panama City Beach, Florida where she spent her winters.
A daughter of the late Killian and Louie Hunter Mills, she was born October 9, 1942 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived for a number of years, later living in Gwinnett County, Georgia before moving back to Toccoa after her retirement. Prior to her retirement she was employed with Gwinnett Fire Department and later with Gwinnett Public Utilities She loved to travel, loved old cars and car shows, fishing, gardening and yard work and loved volunteering in her church for various church activities. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Rochester Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Worthy; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Pam Smith of Buford, Georgia; step-son, David Eric Worth of Evansville, Indiana; step-daughter, Erica Worthy of Thomaston, Georgia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Larry Williams of Toccoa; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kay Mills of Clarkesville.
Celebration of Life service will be Sunday, February 26, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. with The Reverend Andy Childs officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the service time.
