Doris E. Free

Doris E. Free, age 82, of Demorest, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. 

Born on March 30, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Hoyt Standridge and Hassie Fortenberry Standridge. Doris was a homemaker who enjoyed life with her late husband, Lane Free. She was of the Holiness Faith. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy, Billy, Bobby, and Estee Standridge: sisters, Raynell Autry, Irene Nations, and Jean Casper. 

Survivors include sons, Anthony Lane Free of Cleveland, and Tommy Dwayne Free of Demorest; daughters, Angela Mae Freeman of Demorest, and Robin Marie Sims of Clarkesville; sister, Brenda Wiley of Alto; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 4 pm, on Saturday, February 18, 2023 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow at Yonah Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends from 12 pm until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
