Billy E. Brawner, Jr. was born on April 19, 1973, to Billy E. Sr. and Shirley C. Brawner in Gainesville, Georgia. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1992 where he was a very talented vocalist and athletic student. He was very gifted in music, songwriter, vocalist, artist (drawing), and a barber.
Billy Jr. was a very well-known gentle, kind-hearted, and God-fearing man. His love for music began at a very young age. He received the gift of song while watching his parents travel as gospel singers, all through his adolescence and teenage years. As a young adult, Billy joined a four men gospel group named “GQ” (Gospel Quartet), with childhood friends. He also become apart of a music studio recording group named J.F.B., with also allowed him the opportunity to grow his gifts as a vocalist and songwriter. Billy loved everyone and was always there to render a selection for weddings, church events, or funerals. He loved singing the praises of God. As a leader of several Praise Teams, Billy ministered whole-heartedly to those who would listen to the Word in song. With his big sister by his side, the Lord truly used their worship to uplift the hearts of many.
Billy Jr. also was a very talented barber. Mentored by the late Master Barber James Wright, at the age of 15 years old. He would do cuts for friends, family and the community, on his parents front porch, free or small donations. Then as an adult he worked in local barbershops in his community and did community home calls. His occupation was as a pest control service technician until his transitioned to be with the Lord.
He was also an active member of his local Masonic Lodge.
Billy Jr. departed peacefully from this life on February 13, 2023, with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Billy Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Billy Sr. and Shirley Brawner, his two daughters, Daijah Brawner and Destiny Brawner, his son Dorien Brawner, his grandson Kokou Heru Hill, his sister Marsha (Jason) Arendall, special partner Terri Stephens and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, godchildren, and many very dear friends.

The Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 21st at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 12-5pm. The Family will receive friends between the hours of 6-8pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church. The Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 22nd at Hillside Chapel at the hour of 1pm.
