Lewis Quinton Peeples

Mr. Lewis Quinton Peeples, age 95 of Liberty Hill Road, Eastanollee passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 at his residence.

A son of the late S.P. Peeples, Sr. and Reeda Caudell Peeples, he was born October 13, 1927 in Banks County, Georgia having lived all his life in Stephens County.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII, having served in the Air Corp in Okinawa.  He was retired from R.G. Letourneau/WABCO and later with Eaton Corporation.  He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where he had served on the building and grounds committee.  He loved farming and gardening.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Lou Ivester Peeples in 2003, his son, Steve Peeples in 2010, by three brothers, S.P. Peeples, Jr., Kenneth Peeples and Forest Peeples and by a sister, Helen Whitworth.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Eugene Poser of Tococa; grandson, Brent Poser; sister-in-law, Faye Peeples of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 17, 2023, 11 o’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Roger Elrod officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Steve Addison, Larry Ansley, Roger Allen, John Farrow, Charles Caudell and Brent Poser.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfhc.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mr. Lewis Quinton Peeples.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
