Kenneth Payton Guthrie

Mr. Kenneth Payton Guthrie, age 65 of Hilltop Lane, Toccoa passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A son of the late Richard Paul Guthrie and Margaret Viola Phillips Guthrie, he was born October 13, 1957 in Fulton County, Georgia having lived in Toccoa, Georgia for most of his life.  He was a truck driver, having owned his own business.  He was an ordained Baptist minister, was a member of Collins Road Baptist Church and worked with the Jail Ministry at the Stephens County Jail.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life of 38 years, Louise McCurry Guthrie, a son, Brent Guthrie and by a daughter, Marryie Grace McJunkin.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Trenton and Ingrid Guthrie of Pflugerville, Texas; two daughters and son-in-law, Ginger McJunkin  and Raikol and Nick Adams both of Toccoa; grandchildren, Lynsie Adams, Rheanna Adams and Stephanie Jones.

Graveside services will be Saturday, February 18, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Phil Burgess officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Anthony McCurry, Mike McCurry, Richard Roberts, Craig McJunkin, Heath Lyles and Mason Stanford.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until time to leave for the graveside.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com

Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Kenneth Payton Guthrie.
