Willie B. Mackey

Willie B. Mackey was born on March 11, 1928 in Jefferson, GA to the late John B. Mackey and the late Salemma Mackey. He was called home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2023. He was preceded in death by his sons, Willie James Mackey, Joe Henry Mackey, and Bobby Charles Mackey; daughter, Janice Smith; grandchildren, Samantha Smith and Reginald Smith, Jr.; and brothers, J.T. Mackey and Clarence Mackey.

Mr. Mackey attended Sardis Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. He worked for Storey Porter for over 40 years. Later, he started a landscaping business that was very successful. His passion was getting on his mower and cutting grass for his community. Furthermore, he loved to ride his handmade bicycle.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Lucille Mackey; sons, Johnny B. Mackey, Horace Mackey, and Eddie Mackey; daughters, Gussie Martin, Sara Ann Faulkner, and Linda Mackey; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday February 17, 2023 at 2pm at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC in The Rev. Charlie, Jr. and Conchita Sims Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Sardis Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Jefferson. Viewing will be held Thursday February 16, 2023 from 2pm-8pm. The family will receive family and friends from 2pm-8pm.
