Margie Mae Southern

Margie Mae Southern, age 84, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023.

Ms. Southern was born on February 22, 1938, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Ed and Decide Arrowood Murphy.  She worked as a seamstress for Orbit and was a member of Cleveland Church of God.  In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Carter; brother, Homer Murphy; and sisters, Rosell Ivey and Ruby Nation.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Rhonda Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Paul Barrett; grandchildren, Donnie White, Scott Barrett, and Shane Carter; great-grandchildren, Brittany Barnard, Lane White, Mason Barrett, Leland White, and Dakota Rain White; sister, Thelma Smith.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Rev. Danny Kastner and the Rev. Jerry Whitlock will officiate.
