Wayne Gerald Whitmire

Mr. Wayne Gerald Whitmire, 83, of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Chuck Nations will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on October 23, 1939 in Rome GA, he was the son of the late Ralph C. and Estelle Hulsey Whitmire. He was retired from Oakwood Tire, where he was the owner. Mr. Whitmire was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitmire was preceded in death by his wife, Janette W. Whitmire.

Mr. Whitmire is survived by his daughter, Cindy D. Whitmire of Gainesville; sisters, Jeanette Kesler of Oakwood, Gloria Whitmire of Gainesville and his loving dogs, Buddy and Aspen and a number of other loving relatives.
