Mrs. Mary Jane (Bender) Taylor, age 69, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor was born May 30, 1953 in New York and was the daughter of the late Robert Bender and Mary Jane (Thomson) Bender and loving wife of George Taylor.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband George; son and daughter, Ryan Taylor and Rachel Bembry. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Sophia Taylor and Olivia Bembry; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Jean Bender.
After graduating high school at Manatee High School, Mary Jane attended Valdosta State University and earned her Masters and Doctorate at the University of Georgia. Mary Jane was a teacher and professor at Brenau University for 24 years and finished her career as a pottery teacher at Forsyth Central High School. She loved teaching art and creating pottery. Mary Jane will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
