Roy Clemons, Jr.

Roy Clemons, Jr. was born on February 7, 1943 in Martin, GA to the late Roy Clemons, Sr. and the late Rosebud Oglesby Clemons. He was called home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2023 on his 80^th birthday. He was preceded in death by his brother, James William Clemons.

He joined Hurricane Baptist Church at an early age. He graduated from Franklin County High and Trade School in 1962. He attended Savannah State College two years. After completing two years at Savannah State, he was drafted by the United States Army where he served for two years. After completing two years in the Army, he attended Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA and graduated in 1971. After graduating from Gupton-Jones, he became employed at Owens Corning Fiberglass in Anderson, SC and worked at the company for thirty five years. While he was employed at Owens Corning Fiberglass, he operated McAdams Funeral Home in Hartwell, GA. After retirement from Owens Corning Fiberglass in 2001, he worked full time at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC from 2003 until his passing at the Royston and Gainesville locations.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his brother, Ray (Lynda) Clemons of Lavonia, GA; niece, Sara Clemons of Lavonia, GA; special companion, Diane Merritt of Canon, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday February 16, 2023 at 2pm at Hurricane Grove Baptist Church in Martin, GA. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held Wednesday February 15, 2023 from 1pm-7pm. The family will receive family and friends from 5pm-7pm.
