Jerry Jay Simmons

Mr. Jerry Jay Simmons, 73, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023 in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on July 22, 1949 in Jasper, GA, he was the son of the late Fred and Cleo Cantrell Simmons. He was retired from Kubota where he was a supervisor. Mr. Simmons was a proud veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Fowler Simmons.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his sons, Timothy Simmons of New Holland, Matthew Simmons of Gainesville; sister, Rebecca Evelyn Caroll of Gainesville and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
