Ricky Joe Barnes

Mr. Ricky Joe Barnes, age 61 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Memorial Park South Cemetery with interment following. Rev. Dustin Ledford will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnes was born June 20, 1961 to the late Everett Hansel & Bessie Lemley Barnes in Wauchula, Florida. Ricky was a friend, father, and grandfather (papa). He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He loved his family greatly and loved all genres of music. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his ex-wife & love of his life, Kathy Barnes; son & daughter-in-law, Ricky Chad & Faith Barnes; son, Jonathan Blake Barnes; grandchildren, Alayna Grace Barnes, Isabella Chloe Barnes, & Charleigh Amelia  Barnes; sisters, Betty Vaughn, Bonnie Dupree, & Cathy Jackson; and brother, James Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert & Mary Barnes; brothers, Everett Barnes & Douglas Barnes; nephew, Kevin Barnes; and sister, Theresa Dorsey.
