Gary William Harper

Obituary Date: Friday, January 27, 2023

Gary William Harper, the beloved husband of Joyce Jerrel Harper, passed peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, January 27, 2023. Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gary is survived by his wife Joyce, with whom he shared 57 years of his life; daughters Jodi H. Spink and Tracy H. Burtz; sons-in-law Patrick Spink and George Burtz; and grandchildren Nicholas (Melissa) and Abbey Spink and Alex and Adam Burtz.  He was fondly referred to as Papa Gary by all who loved him.

Gary was an avid boater and golfer, and he enjoyed watching football when he was not on the lake.  He was known for his infectious smile, quick wit, and unwavering love for his family. Gary was imaginative with his sense of humor, skills in carpentry, knowledge about cars and boats, and his unwavering desire to help others whenever possible.

Gary will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather who lived life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed, but his memories will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

In the months ahead, family and friends will be invited to attend a celebration of life for Gary.
