David Scarboro Sr.

Mr. David Scarboro Sr., age 92, of Dahlonega, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 28, 2023. David has lived in Lumpkin County since 1974, having moved from Miami, FL. He lived an exemplary life of dedication to The Lord Jesus Christ. David was very dedicated to his church Mt. Gilead Baptist. He was loved by his family and church family and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lou Scarboro, daughter Donna Scarboro and grandson, Joseph Anderson.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law David and Susan Scarboro; daughter and son-in-law Lynda and Don Kinder; grandchildren Jessica Scarboro, Stephanie Chastain, and Robert Scarboro; seven great-grandchildren, sister Patsy Hill, and several other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Les Fuller and the Rev. Lance Fuller will officiate. A private interment will be held at Mill Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to the service hour Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of David to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Samaritan's Purse, or to Gideon's International.
