Priscilla Henry Clyde Rucker

Obituary Date: Wednesday, January 25, 2023
Ms.Priscilla Henry Clyde Rucker was born on July 11, 1930 in Gainesville, Ga.
She was born to the late Elizabeth William-Clyde and raised, in love, by her Step-Father Pat Johnson. She grew up with her late brothers, William “Billy” Clyde and Haywood Clyde.

Miss Priss, as she was affectionately known, grew up in the Gainesville Community. She loved her home church, St. Paul UMC, the choir and the congregation as her own family. She was simply the sweetest Georgia Peach that ever was grown.
As a child she attended The Northwestern School. To her grandkids, she would often recount her days playing basketball, and how much she loved the sport. Soon after she graduated, she married the late George Edward Rucker, Sr.. Together they began to grow the Rucker legacy. They raised 4 sons: George Edward Jr., Thomas James, William and Howard Timothy.
Miss. Priss worked as a domestic home caretaker, for the Shannon and Lawson Families
in the early years of her marriage. She then began to work full time at Chicopee Mills. Later, she transitioned from her position at Chicopee Mills to Dundee Mills. There, she worked in Quality Control until she retired in the late 90's.
Priscilla was extremely revered in her work, receiving many awards and accolades for exemplary service, loyalty and kindness to all that she encountered.
Priscilla was an active and faithful member of the St.Paul United Methodist Church, Gainesville, Ga. She was a member of the Willing Workers Organization, a community outreach program in the Gainesville/Hall County area. She was known for hosting the Little Miss Black Hall County Pageants. She was also a devoted member of the choir until she could no
longer attend services in her later days. She will also be missed in the community, for her excellence while serving in the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
In her later days, she cherished daily visits from her family, at her Prior Street home. She loved going across the street to "The Center", where she socialized with friends, danced, smiled, laughed, took trips and won infinite rounds of bingo, until her health prevented her from doing so.
She adored attending every grandchild's birthday, graduation, baby shower, etc. She did not let her age stop her! She was a doting mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved her family and took every opportunity to tell everyone she knew about how proud she was of her sons and all of their children.
She departed this life on January 25, 2023,at the age of 92, surrounded by loved ones who will miss her dearly. She was an amazingly sweet and devoted mother and grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Left to cherish the memories, and carry on her living legacy, are her sons: George Edward Rucker Jr., Thomas James Rucker Sr., Howard Timothy(Sharon) Rucker, Sr.
