Laurance “Larry” Simpson, 62, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Northside Hospital Forsyth following an extended illness.

Born July 9, 1960, Larry was raised in Perry, Georgia and had been a resident of Dawson County for over 20 years.  His family and friends were the most important part of his life.  Larry loved them all dearly, especially his in-laws who he had a very special relationship with.  He also enjoyed cars, music and fishing.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents, F.K. and Emily Simpson, and a brother, Kenneth Simpson.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra T. Simpson of Dawsonville; children, Matthew Simpson, Tyler Simpson, Haley Simpson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Deloris Tippett of Dahlonega; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Rick Lundy of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Cheryl Simpson of Chattahoochee Hills, GA, Radney and Katherine Simpson of Marietta, GA, Julie Simpson of Perry, GA; brother-in-law, Allen Tippett of Madison, NC; special nephew, Andy Lundy of Waleska, GA; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Tommy Weldy will officiate.  Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
