Harriet Joan Waters

Harriet Joan Waters, age 99, of Snellville, GA passed away peacefully at her new home Great Oaks Assisted Living on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. She was surrounded by family and her loving care givers

Harriet grew up, on a farm in Pierceton, Indiana. After high school she moved to Denver, Colorado where she met and married an Air Force serviceman from Decatur, Ga, Aubrey F. Waters. After her husband was discharged from the service, they moved back to Decatur, Ga. Harriet went to work at Decatur Federal Savings and Loan and retired from there after 25 years, after which she took a job at a dentist office and worked until she was 75. After the passing of her husband in 1994, Harriet then moved to a loving neighborhood in Snellville, GA. She absolutely loved the people there and joined Snellville United Methodist Church. Through all the years Harriet made many friends. She really enjoyed them all and cared about them all. She is survived by her son, Robert Waters and daughter-in-law Julie Stein.  Harriet was truly blessed to have the loving people caring for her in final days.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity per Harriet’s request. A graveside only ceremony will be held at Decatur Cemetery, 229 Bell St.  Decatur, Ga. 30030 on Sunday, January 29th at 1:00 p.m.
