Eulene Silver Honea

Eulene Silver Honea, age 89, of Cumming, GA, won her battle with dementia and peacefully met her Lord on January 18, 2023.  She was the daughter of Luther and Amanda Silver of Fairmount, GA. 

Mrs. Honea grew up in Talking Rock, Georgia until moving with her parents to the Coal Mountain community.  It was there that she met her husband, L.B. Honea.  They were married for over 58 years until his death in 2012.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her garden, preserving her vegetables, baking, and spending time with her family.  She has been a member of Concord Baptist Church for over 65 years. 

Along with her parents, and her husband, L.B., she was proceeded in death by her 9 silblings; sisters, Annie (Roy) Goss, Lois (Carl) Taylor, Florence Godfrey, Flora (Lamar) Holland; brothers, Jasper Silver, Sherman Silver, Thurman (Hazel) Silver, Junior Silver, Eugene (Helen) Silver. 

She is survived by her children, Randy, Sr and Susan Honea, Deloris and Wendell Bagwell, Sandra and Wayne Benefield, and Kim and Debbie Honea, all of Cumming.  Grandchildren, Alison and T.J. Smith, Randy, Jr and Amanda Honea, Josh Bagwell, Lauren and Tim Jackson, Dusty and Danielle Benefield, and Mary Beth and Chandler Starling.  Great Grandchildren, Olivia and Sawyer Smith, Layla and Haley Jackson, Marlee and Bolton Bagwell, Grayson and Owen Benefield, and Meredith Grace Starling.  Brother-in-law, Earnest and Noell Honea, sisters-in-law, Helen Silver and Sarah Hood.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to thank Janna Jarrard and the Gentiva Hospice Staff for the wonderful care they extended to our mother during her illness. 

Funeral services will be held at Concord Baptist Church on Friday, January 20th, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with Dr. Scott Gilbert and Rev. Danny Bennett officiating.  The interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will accept friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 19th, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, and again from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
