Joan Kasdorf Burnham Kraft

Joan Kasdorf Burnham Kraft was born on December 4, 1932, to Henry and Alice Kasdorf in Milwaukee, WI. She passed peacefully to her heavenly home on January 15, 2023.

She graduated from Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI with a BSN. She worked as a nurse for many years, but ended her career as a Professor of Nursing at North Georgia College in Dahlonega. She loved her students and was thrilled to see them finish the program. Many students credited her as the reason they stuck with it and graduated. Nursing was very near and dear to her heart and it was evident that it was her calling.

In between those years, she raised 5 children. She was always patient, loving and kind to everyone she met. She was known for her beautiful smile. We will miss her love and hugs, for you didn’t leave her without getting a hug.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Kasdorf; nephew David Kasdorf; and step-granddaughter Joanna Kraft.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Kraft; children Joe Burnham, James (Kiki) Burnham, Janet (Greg) Davis, Johnny (Tammy) Burnham and Jeff Burnham; grandchildren Katy Maupin, Ashley Harris, Ben Burnham, Bethany Burnham, Caleb Davis, Dillon Davis, Ken Burnham and Sean Burnham; great-grandchildren Samuel, James, Lucas, Hudson, Hayden and Georgia; sister-in- law Betty Kasdorf and family in Wisconsin. She is also survived by step-children Denise Roberson, Steve Kraft, David Kraft and Michele Kraft as well as step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Dahlonega Memorial Park. Donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Dahlonega, or your home congregation.
