Kimsey Lamar Gray

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Kimsey Lamar Gray Sr, age 57, of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered rest Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Mr. Gray was born in Commerce, Georgia the son of the late Douglas Gray and the late Lila Couch Gray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Gray and a brother, Richard Gray.

Mr. Gray had been working in law enforcement for over 40 years working with the City of Jefferson Police Department, Braselton Police Department, Hoschton Police Department, and the Banks County Sheriff’s Department. He retired from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in 2009. Mr. Gray was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Lynn L. Gray of Pendergrass. Daughter, Samantha Bock (David) of Bank County. Two sons, Kimsey L. Gray Jr of Jefferson, and Casey Gray of Pendergrass. Three grandchildren, Ireland Gray, Colton Gray and, Sarah Faye Bock. Two sisters, Connie Fountain of Homer, GA, and Kathy Burton (Charles) of Homer, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday January 20, 2023, at Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson, Georgia with Reverend Barry Bray, and Reverend James Dumas officiating. Honored as pallbearers are, Chris Poe, Kelly LaCount, Mike Holloway, Kenneth Edge, Dell Dillow and Bruce Harper. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
