Ms. Emily W. McClure, age 89, of Flowery Branch passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her family. Emily resided in Tucker, GA for 40 years until she moved to Flowery Branch with her daughter Melanie.
Ms. McClure was born April 23, 1933 to the late Allen Theodore & Dovie Lee Whitman in Eatonton. A graduate of Putnam County High School in Eatonton, GA, she played basketball for many years. After high school, she attended business school and went on to work as a civilian worker at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA. Emily moved to the Atlanta area where she raised her two daughters. She then went on to work for Dekalb County in the Tax Accessors Office and retired in 1998.
Ms. McClure is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Melanie & Paul Skinner and Karen & Devin Simerly; brother & sister-in-law, Doug & Patricia Whitman; and grandchildren, Amber Simerly, Heather Simerly Thurman, Kelsey Skinner Smith, Adam Skinner and Amber Skinner Colon; and great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Colon, Micah Colon, Tristan Skinner Vance and Emilia Rose Simerly.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Memorial Park South Cemetery.
