Robert “Bob” D. Hogan

Robert “Bob” D. Hogan, 87, of Buford, GA passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Labe and Mary Belle Bennett Hogan; and brothers, Labe Hogan, Jr. and Jerry Hogan. Bob is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Emily Jean Robertson Hogan; children, Diane and Alan Cobb of Buford; Hal and Penny Hogan of Sugar Hill; Rodger and Susie Hogan of Gainesville; Richard and Kim Hogan of Woodstock; Randy and Shana Hogan of Buford; and Beth and Rich Jackson of Woodstock. Thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive. Bob was born January 30, 1935 in Princeton, KY, and received his Master’s in Music from Murray State University in Murray, KY. He played trumpet professionally before he became an educator, and also coached football and basketball during his teaching career. He was in the Army Reserves, and served as an Elder at Buford Church of Christ, where he was a member for over twenty-eight years. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and Pop Pop who was loved by all who knew him. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at Buford Church of Christ, 1135 Chatham Rd., Buford, GA, with Minister Kyle Rye officiating. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 Noon until the service hour on Friday, January 20, 2023.
