Lois Naomi "Loy" Reed

Lois Naomi (Loy) Reed, 86 of Murrayville, GA, passed away January 14, 2023, three days shy of her 87th birthday. 

She was born January 17, 1936 in Alton, Kansas.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel in Gainesville. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Northlake Baptist Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery

Mrs. Reed is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leroy Russell Reed, sister, Norma Messerlian, stepdaughters Marilyn Gerdes and Renee Kuhl, sisters- in-law Audrey Loy and Nancy Loy, and many cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev and Mrs. Ivan R. Loy, and her brothers, Robert Paul Loy and Rev. Ronald David Loy.

In the 1960's, Lois worked for NASA with the Gemini program.  She was a very talented pianist and organist who has played in numerous churches for over 70 years.  She started out playing the piano with her siblings as they sang where their father pastored and later played piano in her brother's church, who was also a pastor.  For most of her working years she was an Executive Assistant and retired from Royal DSM about 15 years ago.
