Mrs. Mary Lou Ward, 87, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Ford, Rev. Timothy Sullens, Rev. Ronnie Dockery and Rev. Ronald Seabolt will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on May 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Leona Chambers Parker. She was retired from ZF Transmissions where she worked on the assembly line. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ward; sister, Lucille Barrett, Betty Bryan; brothers, Jake Parker, Homer Parker, Johnny Parker, Joe Parker; grandchildren, Misty Moody and Alan Moody.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her daughters, Jean Haff of Gainesville, Rev. Frank and Sadie Ford of Murrayville; son, Charles and Jean Ward of Gainesville; grandchildren, Chris and Carrie Haff of Flowery Branch, Shane and Amy Haff of Gainesville, Shawn Ford of Gainesville, Chanda Gilreath of Murrayville, Jim and Stephanie Diemer of Pooler, GA; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Gravitt of Flowery Branch; special nieces, Teresa Gooch, Gina Stanley, Pam Towe; special caregiver, Kelley Townley Peppers and a number of other loving relatives.
