Maurice Turner

Mr. Maurice Turner, age 74 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at his residence surrounded by family.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Memorial Park South Chapel. Pastor Ric Cadle will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Turner was born June 13, 1948 to the late Floyd Lee & Betty Jeanette Turner in Atlanta, Georgia. He retired as a fugitive’s investigator after 21 years with Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department. While in the police academy, he won the Top Gun award.  He was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and his beloved Cat, Mulan.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Leilen Turner of Flowery Branch, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Kerrie Lynn & Mark Anderson of Kennesaw, GA; daughter, Lisa Turner of Woodstock, GA; brother, Vernon Lynn Presley of AL; brother, Steve Presley of LaGrange, GA; grandson, John David and Amy Anderson of Kennesaw, GA; great-grandson, Josiah Anderson; nephew, David Kelly; and close friends, Dr. Willie Dixon, Paul Pierson, and Venus Soriano.
