Ms. Joyce Ann Wheeler, 68, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Waters and Rev. Dwayne Smith, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Born on July 30, 1954 in Spalding County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Betty Ann Mallory Smith. She retired from the nursing profession. Ms. Wheeler was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Wheeler was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Star and brother, Sam Wesley.
Ms. Wheeler is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Stacey Hubert Hamby and Ashly Huss of Flowery Branch, Christopher Jimmy and Alba Hamby of Gainesville; grandchildren, Krissy Hamby, Alexis Hamby, Sarah Hamby, April Hamby; sister and brother in law, Cathy and Charley Adams of Gainesville; brother and sister in law, Hubert Dwayne and Becky Smith of Gainesville and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
