Avin Glen Long

Mr. Avin Glen Long, age 60 of Long Circle, Toccoa passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.

A son of Shelby Jean Shirley Long and the late Reverend Dr. Avery Mason Long, he was born October 19, 1962 in Stephens County, Georgia, having lived in Dalco, North Carolina and Lake Mary, Florida before moving back to Toccoa in 2000.    He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Green Beret.  He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Shelby Jean Shirley Long of Toccoa; special cousin, Kathy Nell Kimsey of Toccoa; five aunts and two uncles.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 6, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church with The Reverend  Bill Delong and The Reverend George Dean officiating. Military Honors by the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jerry Shirley, Billy Shirley, Daniel Kimsey, Shane Shirley, Paul Shirley and Timothy Kimsey.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Avin Glen Long.
