Thomas Arthur McDiermon

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Thomas Arthur McDiermon, age 72, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Saturday December 31, 2022. Mr. McDiermon was born in Belleville, Illinois the son of the late John Thomas McDiermon and the late Marian Truttmann McDiermon.

Mr. McDiermon worked as an Engineer with Lockheed Martin and during that time he worked on the shuttle program at NASA. He also worked with the Coca-Cola Company, was a life member of the Moose Club, had his private pilot’s license and a member of AOPA. Mr. McDiermon was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Jefferson, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Lynn McDiermon of Jefferson. Two sons, Andy McDiermon (Paige) of Athens, GA and John T. McDiermon of Winder, GA. Two grandchildren, Makenize McDiermon, and Jacob McDiermon both of Jefferson.

Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday January 9, 2023, at St. Catherine Laboure’ Catholic Church, Jefferson, Georgia with Father Bryan Kuhr officiating.

In accordance with the wishes of Mr. McDiermon, his remains were cremated.
