Venita Masters

Venita Masters, age 78, of Buford, GA, passed away on January 2, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlin “Buck” and Inez Parker, and her sister, Rita White. She is survived by her husband, Dorsey Masters; children, Darron (Fran) Masters, Vicki (Derick) Burrell; grandchildren, Wesley (Molly) Masters, Alex (Brett) Breedlove, Dylan Appling, Grace Burrell, Emily (Brandon) Mattison; great grandchildren, Joani Masters, and Molly, Kayden, and Ezra Mattison; brothers, Leonard Parker, Gary Parker, Keith (Sheila) Parker; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Venita was born on December 16, 1944 and grew up in Buford, GA. She was a 1962 graduate of Buford High School. Later that year she married the love of her life and enjoyed 60 years by his loving side. Venita was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a strong Christian woman and a proud member of Harmony Baptist Church. She served as the first female president of the North Gwinnett Kiwanis Club in 1992 – 1993. Venita proudly identified herself as a realtor and was quite the powerhouse for 45 years. She held titles such as Realtor of the Year, the Double Phoenix Award for 20 years in the Million Dollar Club, and Top 100 in Communities Magazine for 16 years.

Venita was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 22. She spent her life overcoming obstacle after obstacle and never slowed down. Her will and determination were relentless. She lived her life selflessly, always ensuring her friends and family were taken care of. She will be truly missed and made a mark on everyone she met!

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 1 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Bryan Satterfield and Rev. Frankie Southerland will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 4 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
