Mrs. Emma Ruth Ward, 88, of Clermont, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at home following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mr. Doug Forrester will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Born on June 1, 1934 in Belton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Will and Eva Armour Dyer. She was retired from Scientific Atlanta and was a member of Community Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Ward; sisters, Willene Dyer Gaddis, Mona Ann Dyer Masters, Maudie Mae Dyer Fair, Montene Dyer Garner and brothers, Selman Dyer, Fred Dyer.
Mrs. Dyer is survived by her son, David Ward of Advance, NC; daughter, Carol Prater Ward of Murrayville, GA; son, Mike Ward of Easley, SC; grandsons, Robert Prater of AZ, Brian Prater of GA, Steven Ward of SC, Christopher Ward of NC, Adam Ward of NC; great granddaughters, Shanice Kennedy of GA, Abby Ward of SC; great grandsons, Graham Ward of NC, “Lil” David Ward of NC, Hayden Ward of SC, Wade Ward of NC, Kaleb Prater of ZR; great-great granddaughter, Alyssa Lyons of GA; sisters, Vernell Dyer McDougal of Clermont, Etta Lee Dyer Fair of Gainesville and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
