Roy Ivester

Mr. Roy Ivester, age 68 of Prather Bridge Road, Toccoa passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at his residence.

A son of the late Namon and Bertie Mae Thurmond Ivester, he was born June 19, 1954 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.  He was retired from the City of Toccoa with 30 years of service.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandkids.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy Ivester and Carroll Ivester and by a sister, Linda Gail Savage.

Survivors include his fiancé’ Lois Carter of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Brad Payne of Toccoa, Rebecca and Stephen Kroening of Augusta, Georgia and Olivia Standridge of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Buzzy and Kellie Ivester of Toccoa; grandchildren, Janice Payne, Christopher and McKenzie Ivester, Aaliyah Kroening, Aisah Kroening, Kendall Kroening, Kendra and Dustin Lorio and K.J. Fruster; great-grandchildren, Curtis and Cain Cannon, Hudson and Faith Ivester, Lily Pyle and Brayleen and Hadley Lorio; niece, Dena Savage; great-nephew, Keaton Savage.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 1, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty and Mr. Fred Williams officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Christopher Ivester, David Cole Thomas, Stephen Kroening, Keaton Savage, Kevin Lowery, Sean Moffett, Asa Wilbanks and K.J. Fruster.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Old Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Roy Ivester.
