Bobbie Ruth Gibbs, age 92, of Gainesville, GA went to heaven on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
Mrs. Gibbs was born in White County on June 26, 1930, to the late Carl Abner Freeman and the late Willie Jane (Alexander) Freeman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Gibbs and siblings Nell Baker, Gene Fleming, Pat Gurley, and Henry Freeman.
Bobbie was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church in White County until she was no longer able to attend but her heart and love for Jesus and the Church was still strong. Bobbie loved to cook and always invited people over for her good cooking. She was a special cook in a lot of aspects. She could cook great regular country meals or create a spread for any of the special people in her life that had the pleasure of eating the “Greatest meal of their life." Many people have made that statement.
Bobbie had worked in different jobs throughout her life and had retired with the State of Georgia as a Special Children’s bus driver in Hall County. She was in that position for 17 years. She enjoyed those special kids and loved every one as her own.
She is survived by daughters Donna (Mark) Chitwood of Gainesville, and Bobbie Sue (Bill) Pittman of Georgetown TN; grandchildren, Chris Lovell, Corey (Heather) Myers and Tiana Teague, Aaron Pittman, Riannon Fredrick; great-grandchildren; Harrison Lovell, Mark Myers, Aurora Teague, Maia Teague, Mark Teague, Phillip Teague, Hunter Teague, Stasia Pittman and Bob Pittman; siblings, Frances Deaver, Eleanor Roberson, Ann Teems; sister-in-law, Susie Freeman and many other nieces and nephews and relatives survive. She was loved and will be missed by all.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Monday, January 2, 2023, at Union Grove Holiness Church. Rev. Paul Flynn, Rev. Bobby Ivester and Mr. Doug Freeman will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 P.M. Monday at the church, prior to the service.
