Mrs. Rutha "Ruthie" Green, age 73, of Gainesville, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022.
Mrs. Green was born to the late Walter and Alice Delsey Goss McClure on January 10, 1949. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sons Randall Lance and Robert Green and numerous siblings. Mrs. Green was faithful in reading her bible and listening to preaching. She was a great cook and loved family get-togethers, riding around, gardening, and growing roses.
Survivors include her husband, William Green, Gainesville; sons Dwight Lance, Macon, Walter Green (Melissa), Gainesville, Steve Green (Sidney Ozorkiewicz), Venice, FL; daughter Krystal Sweatman (William Connolly), Gainesville; sisters Minnie Landers, Jannie Marchbank, Gladles Tullis, Nancy Hamilton (Larry), Helen Smith; brothers William McClure and Wayne McClure; grandchildren Ginger Faith Mull, Tiffany Register, Amanda Thomas, Casey Lance, Tanya Crisp, Marie Adams, Amber Lance, Katie Lance, Heather Green, Matthew Green, Nikolas Green, Paisley Sweatman; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2022, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Restoration Worship Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
